14 months period free… now spotting after starting progesterone - anyone else?

I have been period free for 14 months and just started spotting today – anyone had this happen? I just started progesterone cream about two months ago.

  I’d be asking my clinician about this one. I know spotting can be a common side effect of hormone therapy, but they also say to get any postmenopausal bleeding checked out, so I’d run it by them for peace of mind.

  Can happen especially if trying out hormone therapy. Do talk to your clinician, sometimes if spotting starts after having stopped for over a year you may want to get an ultrasound to check to see if anything has changed with uterine lining.
