Heavier periods. Is this normal?
I’m experiencing increased bleeding during my periods. Is this a normal change with menopause, and what steps can I take to manage it?

Menopause is when there is a complete cessation of menstrual periods for at least 12 consecutive months. If you are still experiencing periods, but they have become irregular, you may be in the perimenopausal stage. During perimenopause, it’s not unusual for your periods to become heavier in the transitional period leading up to menopause, during which a woman's body undergoes hormonal changes that affect the menstrual cycle. Sometimes, heavier bleeding and bleeding between periods are perimenopause symptoms, but they can also be signs of other conditions. It’s always a recommended first step to have your symptoms checked by your primary care provider, just to be sure. 0
